Wilkinson's
Automobilia is an independently owned business located in Vancouver, British
Columbia (Canada), dealing
in automotive books and diecasts. It is run by Ted Wilkinson, who has been an automotive/ motorcycle/ racing
enthusiast since birth, and this business is an extension of his passion!
Our
retail store, nineteen years old this year, is nestled in a quiet, tree-lined
street, minutes from the Vancouver downtown core. It is packed with great
stuff, so much so, in fact, that we have just about reached critical mass!
Shelves and display cases run from wall to wall and from floor to (12 foot)
ceiling. Everything is very well organized for the simple fact that if
it wasn't, we would never find anything!! What we have, is mostly in our
heads but we do rely on our computers occasionally. We carry both new and
used items in the store, and there is fresh (and sometimes musty) stock
arriving daily.

Ted started out selling old copies of
Road & Track from his tiny
little apartment, until he inevitably ran out of space (still a problem
today), and had to open a storefront in October,1988. Originally from Montreal,
Ted continues his lifelong love affair with automotive literature and collectibles,
and has amassed an extensive personal collection of automotive biographies.
A talented rallyist and former mechanic, Ted competes in local pro rallies
in a well-preserved 250hp 1980 Toyota
Corolla that took Taisto Heinonen to the Canadian National Rally Championship
in 1980. The rest of his vehicle collection includes a 1968 Lotus
Elan, a 1966
Ducati 250 Mach 1, and a 1973 250 Ossa
"Mick Andrews" trials bike. When not behind the wheel of something fast,
Ted spends time with his wife, Lorraine, and his two children.
Ross is the newest addition to the gang, having joined us in July of
2000. A true enthusiast, he makes an annual pilgrimage to Laguna Seca every
year for the Historics, and is our in-house Formula One expert. With experience
at The Driver's Den and Brian Jessel Ferrari, Ross is a customer
service specialist.
