Search Tips
Only on hand
items are included in search results. If you know we carry a product, but
can't find it in the search results, chances are it's out of stock. Send
us an email and we can arrange to contact you the next time that item is
available.
Also:
-
Review your search terms and make sure
you type each word correctly.
-
Use fewer words and fewer letters within
words.
-
Do not use wild-card characters such
as * or ?.
-
Do not put terms within quotation marks.
You can be as precise or as general
as you want. For example, you've just bought a 1965 Mustang and you want
to collect everything you can get your hands on. Simply type "Mustang"
in the search field and watch the results come tumbling in. If you're only
interested in restoration books, type in "Mustang resto", or browse the
category "Mustang Books" from the drop down list on our books
page.
OUR PART NUMBERS EXPLAINED
After you've
browsed our selection a few times, you'll likely notice a pattern in the
way we create most of our product part numbers. They are all essentially
the manufacturer's part number, with a little search criteria thrown in.
For example:
01MIN241245001 VW Karmann
Ghia 1970 Coupe silver
01 is our code prefix for
diecast model / MIN stands for Minichamps, the manufacturer /
and 2412450021 is the manufacturer's part number. This becomes useful
if you want to browse all Minichamps products, for example, or just one
Minichamps product when you know the part number. The above Karmann Ghia
would've shown up if you had entered any part of the part number or any
part of the description. If you had entered "245001", it would have displayed.
Here are the code prefixes you'll
see, with examples:
-
01= Pre-Made Model (or Diecast
Kit).
-
02= Used Book.
-
03= Plastic Model Kit.
-
04= Posters or Artwork.
-
05 or V= Video Cassettes.
-
06= Not Used.
-
07= Apparel.
-
08= Misc. Items (key fobs, etc.).
-
09= New Magazines.
-
10= New Books.
-
AC= Air Conditioning Manual.
-
AM= Assembly Manual.
-
BL= Technical Service Bulletins.
-
BM= Body Service Manual.
-
CH= Chilton's Manual.
-
CL= Clymer's Manual.
-
FR= Flat-Rate Manual.
-
HY= Haynes Manual.
-
OH= Overhaul Manual (only Chevrolet
made these).
-
OM= Owner's Glovebox Manual (how
to drive it - not how to fix it).
-
PB= Parts Book.
-
RM= Radio Service Manual (only
GM made these).
-
SB= Sales Brochure.
-
SM= Service Manual. (how to fix
it. often confused with "owner's manual")
-
TM= Transmission Manual.
-
WM= Wiring Manual.
more information on the various types of service literature is available
on our manuals page.
Note:
All of the literature is FACTORY
ORIGINAL with a few exceptions: Descriptions that say "Chilton's", "Haynes"
or "Clymer" are not factory manuals.
Literature with a part number ending
in "X" are reprints of the original items. This is most common with Service
Manuals.
If a diecast model doesn't have
a color noted, it's because the color is subject to change at the manufacturer,
and we'd rather not guess. In such cases, the accompanying image is your
best bet.
The more you enter in a field, the
more precise your search results will be. If you can't find a product you're
looking for, but you know the name is right, try using only part of the
name.
