The CX was introduced in 1974 to replace the aged, but much loved DS. It was well received and was voted European Car of the Year in 1975. Styled by Robert Opron, it was the French President's vehicle of choice. The estate was introduced soon after the saloon and proved very popular due to its huge load area and carrying capacity.
